Dr. Rakesh Chand

Dr. Rakesh Chand is the Executive Director of the Center for One Health Research & Promotion. Dr. Chand is a Ph.D. student of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Cambridge. He completed his MPhil in Veterinary Science from the University of Cambridge in 2020 and his bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences (IAAS) in 2015. Dr. Chand working on his project "One Health Approach towards Rabies Elimination in Nepal.



Associate Director

Dr. Samiksha Sen

Dr. Samiksha Sen is the Associate Director of the Center for One Health Research & Promotion. Dr. Sen is currently doing her Mphil in Veterinary Science at the University of Cambridge. She completed her Master's degree in Veterinary Parasitology from the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences (IAAS) in 2021 and has a bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from Agriculture and Forestry University.

Research Assistant

Dr. Pratik Kiju

Dr. Pratik Kiju is a Research Assitant at the Center for One Health Research & Promotion. A registered Veterinarian of the Nepal Veterinary Council, Dr. Kiju completed his Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences (IAAS) in 2021. The former Exchange Officer of the International Veterinary Student’s Association (IVSA) Nepal, Dr. Kiju has a niche for conservation and ecology. Passionate about One Health, Dr. Kiju has served as the Education and Outreach Coordinator for International Student One Health Alliance (ISOHA).

Dr. Bhima Thapa

Dr. Bhima Thapa is a Research Assitant at the Center for One Health Research & Promotion. A registered Veterinarian of the Nepal Veterinary Council, Dr. Thapa completed her Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from the Agriculture and Forestry University in 2021. Passionate about Animal Welfare and One Health, Dr. Thapa is the former President of Veterinary Students for Animal Welfare and has served as the Senior Promotions Intern at One Health Lessons.

fREDRIK iNGEMAR gRUENENFELDER

Dr. Med.Vet, PhD, DPM, DECVN,MRCVS

Dr. Gruenenfelder graduated from the Vetsuisse Faculty,
The University of Zurich in 2000 and completed his Ph.D. from the University of Glasgow UK.  He has spent three years as a clinical instructor at UGA, Georgia USA. His main research focus is on the regenerative capacity of white matter. 

DR. BAL BAHADUR CHAND

DVM, Former Veterinary Officer

Dr. Bal Bahadur Chand is a former Government Officer at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.
